Founded in 1901. Coro became popular in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s for their feminine and romantic designs inspired by Victorian jewelry. The company was also known for their delicate construction and floral motifs. Celluloid was the first plastic. Widely used in the early to mid 1900’s to make jewelry, buttons and combs. Because of the delicate and lightweight composition, celluloid in excellent condition is highly sought after.

Clip on and screw back earrings were widely used from the 1920’s through the 1960’s. Pierced earrings did not become popular until the 1970’s.
